The
Marie Curie Training Site will prospectively resume operation on
April 1, 2006.

to the program will receive a Marie Curie Fellowship!
Eligibility Criteria:
-
You have completed
your university studies with a Master's or Diploma degree (or
equivalent) in human medicine, veterinary medicine, or the
life sciences by the time of the (intended) start date;
-
You are a national
of any country. If you are German you can only apply if you have
resided in a Third country for at least four years of the five
years immediately prior to the (intended) start date;
-
You have not have
resided or carried out your main activity (work, studies, etc)
in Germany for more than a total of 12 months in the 3 years
immediately prior to the start date;

You are in the
first four years (full time equivalent) of your research
activity, including the period of research training (definition
of an early-stage researcher).
The reference period to qualify for an early stage training
activity is counted from the degree giving access to doctoral
studies (diploma, Master). Persons who have obtained a PhD
degree are ineligible for the early stage actions, independently
of the time taken to acquire it.
Applicants are
strongly advised to check their eligibility using the information
provided by the EU Commission.
Application Procedure:
In order to apply for a fellowship the following documents must be
submitted (only applications in English will be accepted):

A cover letter
clarifying your research interest and indicating one or more projects
of interest;

The completed

Copies of
certificates and transcripts (if possible include english
translations)

Non-native
speakers of English should demonstrate an adequate competence of
the English language by acceptable results in an internationally
recognized test (e.g. TOEFL, IELTS, APIEL, CPE). Participation
in such a test is recommended but not obligatory -
language skills can also be evaluated during the personal
interviews with selected candidates. Proven higher education in
English or a reasonably long stay in an English speaking country
are acceptable.

Candidate Selection :
The PhD-commission will review all applications received. Fellows
will be selected according to their written letter of application,
grades and research experience. Selected candidates will be invited
for a personal interview at the beginning of September 2006 in the Department of
Pathology, University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover, Germany or
might be asked to send a short digital video by that date. Decisions
about final admission will be made shortly after the interview
process.

date of the PhD-program: October 1, 2006.
